Programming the Subconscious Mind Through Peripheral Vision

Psychologists and brain scientists have long known that people normally concentrate most of their conscious attention on the things they’re directly staring at, which are usually right in front of them, near the center of the visual field. The periphery of the field of vision, on the other hand, is for the most part processed subconsciously and is not brought up to the conscious mind with its critical faculties unless something important occurs there (like movement, which could be a sign of prey or a predator), or a person makes a deliberate conscious effort to notice the visual outskirts. In the occult circles it’s common knowledge that the easiest way to actually see “weird” things like auras, energies, spirits, ghosts and such is to look “out of the corner of your eye”, that is, to employ peripheral vision.

Such peculiar features of peripheral vision allow it to be used as a natural direct pathway into the subconscious mind. Sort of a back route for smuggling things past the usually watchful censorship of the objective consciousness’ critical faculty.

This simple and fast yet outstandingly effective technique can be used to commit and activate all kinds of programs, instructions and suggestions into your subconscious mind to achieve results in material manifestation, healing, wealth, relationships, altering habits and personality traits, charging Chaos Magick sigils and servitors, and so on. That is, for just about any purpose imaginable.

To do it, take a plain blank sheet of paper, regular office paper will do fine. Near one edge (say, to the left) of the sheet draw a symbolic representation of the instructions you want to introduce into your subconscious, like a picture of the thing you want to obtain or achieve, or better yet, a graphic sigil prepared by any proper method of Chaos Magick. On the opposite side of the paper (to the right) mark a nice black dot, not too big and not too small. About a quarter of an inch should do. It will be the anchor point for your direct gaze. Now place the sheet on the table or on the wall in front of you, so it occupies a large part of your field of vision. Set an alarm clock or a meditation timer for 10 minutes, and just sit there staring intensely at the dot until the alarm goes off. The correct way to do it is to concentrate as much of your attention and awareness as you possibly can on the dot, as if that dot were the most important thing in the Universe for the duration of the session. Don’t look at anything but the dot and try not to think about anything. Should your thoughts wander away, don’t blame yourself, just note that it happened, and gently return your mind and your gaze onto the dot. This is actually a form of Trataka meditation, a very ancient and powerful method of mental training.

After ten minutes have elapsed, it’s done, your chosen instructions are deeply implanted into your subconscious mind. Congratulate yourself and put it out of your mind to allow the new instructions to do their work and bring you the result.

You may now dispose of the paper, or better yet, hide it somewhere until your results have manifested. When they have, take out your sheet and glance at the drawing or sigil for just a moment to acknowledge the results, then destroy the paper bringing the operation to an official conclusion.
