Throw Anyone Out of Your Life

There is a very well-known and widely used folk magick working called “freezer spell” to bind unwanted people and keep them away from your reality. You write the name of your target on a piece of paper, put it into a jar of water (or a nastier liquid), or simply tie it with a thread, then shove it into the back of your refrigerator. The spell is reliable and notoriously effective, however not without side-effects: the result is not permanent, as it works only as long as the link to your target is kept frozen, and it takes up valuable space in your fridge. More active witches actually found themselves having more name-paper jars in their freezers than food. There must be a better way, and there is. Here’s a method that gets people out of your life for good, and doesn’t require you to introduce your enemies into your food storage.

To begin, you take a material object from a remote place you don’t frequent, not where you live or work. Traditionally, a stone or pebble from a bank of a lake or pond (stale water) is used. If that’s not possible, take something that has been natural part of the landscape, like a piece of bark from a tree. Don’t bring human-generated litter. Later you’ll be returning the object where you took it, so make sure to mark or memorize the spot.

Next, you need to link your target with that object. Write or scrape your target’s name on the pebble (let’s assume you took a pebble from a lake). Cradle it in your fingers, call it by the target’s name, talk to it, aloud if possible. Recall how you met and your time together, events that happened. Don’t mention the painful subjects that caused your desire to get rid of the person, but talk about the things that tie you together. This process requires a vivid imagination, but it’s essential.

After some time you’ll notice the pebble taking the qualities of your target. It may happen after several hours or several days of applying concentrated attention in such manner. If after a week you feel nothing, just assume it happened successfully, and finish the ritual.

To do that you bring the object back where you took it, and leave it there. According to tradition, the pebble is cheerfully thrown into the lake. If you used a piece of bark or a tree branch, put it under a tree it came from. And so on. Return home without thinking back about it. You did it, the work is over. Don’t worry about how or when the magick will manifest. It’s out of your life now, so leave it all behind. The connections are torn, and the target will soon lose interest in you and disappear from your reality.
